The Badminton Tournament is a competitive sporting event featuring singles and doubles matches that test players’ agility, strategy, and precision. Conducted under standard rules and referee supervision, the event promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition, offering participants a platform to showcase their skills during Amiphoria 2026.

RULES AND REGULATION
Rules and regulations are subject to change.
1. Team Composition
Doubles: Team of 3 players (2 playing + 1 substitute).
No player changes will be allowed on the event day.
Only registered students will be allowed to participate in the event. "Registered Student" means a participant who possesses a valid college identity card and is currently enrolled in any academic program at their institution. Students with backlogs or alumni are not permitted.
All team members must wear identical jerseys.
2. Match Format & Serving
Every match begins with a toss.
The first serve is decided by toss; subsequent serves depend on rally winners.
Serves must follow official badminton rules — underarm and below waist level only. Overarm serves will be considered a fault.
In doubles, only the designated receiver may return the serve.
Service court position:Even score → Right court
Odd score → Left court
3. Scoring & Gameplay
The side winning a rally earns a point and serves next from the alternate service court.
Players do not switch courts until their side wins a point while serving.
A rally is lost if:Shuttle passes under the net
Shuttle touches the ground
Shuttle is hit twice consecutively
Player or racket touches the net
If the shuttle touches the net and crosses over during play, the rally continues as per referee decision.
4. Conduct & Fair Play
Distracting, intimidating, or bullying opponents during play is strictly prohibited.
Continuous rule violations may lead to point deduction or disqualification at the referee’s discretion.
Players must maintain sportsmanship at all times.
5. Officials & Decisions
Referee decisions and on-spot rule clarifications will be final and binding.
The Managing Committee shall exercise ultimate authority and discretion in all matters.
6. Participation Limits
Maximum Teams: 7 (Boys) and 7 (Girls).
7. RULES OF CONDUCT
Abuse or misconduct toward match officials will result in strict disciplinary action.
Any damage to venue property will incur monetary penalties.
All participants must uphold the spirit of fair play.
No Ornaments / Jewellery etc. allowed in the court.
8. SAFETY MEASURES
Teams are advised to carry their own first aid kits.
Organizers will provide basic first aid for minor injuries (cuts, bruises, sprains).
